L a ricerca intelligente, ricca e puntuale, effettuata da due studiosi, Giuseppe D'Amico e Carmine Tavarone, è collocata all'interno di una analisi che interessa il Cilento, il Vallo di Diano e le regioni limitrofe, per estendersi all'intera realtà meridionale con tutto il carico della sua storia.
C'è in questo sforzo la pregevole storia di una comunità, ricostruita con lo scrupolo costante di legarla ad una ricerca dell'evoluzione storica di una realtà più ampia. Cuccaro Vetere ha sempre avuto solidi legami con una realtà vasta che andava da Molpa a Velia per poi congiungersi, in epoche successive, agli altri Stati del Cilento fino ai Sanseverino, che hanno lasciato il segno più profondo in ampia parte della Campania, nella Lucania ed in parte della Calabria.
Aver ricostruito i riferimenti artistici e religiosi di una piccola comunità, arricchiti da tante memorie di vita quotidiana, spesso a metà tra la storia e la leggenda, significa aver colto la parte più viva e sentita della Comunità stessa. Nel corso dei secoli si sono modificati i regimi, i sistemi di governo e di organizzazione della società che hanno spesso usato violenza e limitato la libertà delle persone. Ma l'uomo, nel suo perenne desiderio di libertà e di progresso, non ha mai rinunziato ad essere sé stesso ed a domandarsi della vita e della morte. In questo l'esistenza umana si è misurata con i valori spirituali e la religiosità. Da Cristo e dai primi Apostoli in poi non c'è momento della nostra Comunità che non sia stato riempito dal riferimento religioso.
The intelligent, rich and punctual research made by the two scholars, Giuseppe D'Amico and Carmine Tavarone, is collocated in an analysis that deals with the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and the neighbouring regions to extend to the whole Southern Italy reality with all the burden of its history.
In this effort, there is the valuable history of a community, reconstructed with the constant scruple to bind it up to a research about the historical evolution of a greater reality. Cuccaro Vetere always had solid bonds with a vast reality that went from Molpa to Velia to join in following ages with other States of the Cilento until to the Sanseverinos, that left the deepest sign in a large part of Campania, in the Lucania and in some parts of Calabria.
Having reconstructed the artistic and religious references of a small community, often enriched by so many memories of daily life halfway between history and legend, it means to hit the mark in the most alive and the most felt part of the community itself.
During the centuries,they have changed regimes, systems of government and the organization of society that have often done violence and limited people's freedom.
Nevertheless, man, in his never-ending desire of freedom and progress, has never renounced to be himself and to wonder about life and death. In that thing, human existence has faced spiritual values and religiosity. Since Christ and the first Apostles, there has never been a moment in our community not filled up by religious reference. |
